Hope Wade “believes that everyone should be able to dress up again at affordable prices”. As the first evening of shows at CFW drew to a close, conversations were all about the magnificent designers, performances and international vibe but with a strong Caribbean flavor.
Designer Hope Wade contributed to the success of that first evening and left the audience in awe of her beautiful and opulent creations. Born in Kingston Jamaica, Hope Wade told Exist Media that she started designing and making clothes after receiving compliments on a New Year’s dress she had made on a budget while out of work. Hope’s parents provided great inspiration - her father was often voted the best dressed policeman and her mother’s great fashion sense fuelled Hope’s instinct for style which lead to her completion of professional qualifications and the launch of her current Hope Wade Designs fashion company. HWD is a 'custom design fashion house for the sophisticated individual who seeks the best in quality materials and outstanding couture designs'. The design house produces lingerie, casual wear, African designs and elegant evening gowns. Her signature styles and rich use of materials are definitely made to emphasize one's femininity - which she achieves seemingly effortlessly.
